HIV/AIDS in South Africa
The non-governmental organization HOPE Village, South African division of HOPE worldwide is composed of Afrikaners (White south Africans) and Black South Africans, one of the rare cases
of mixed organizations in the country. It works mainly in the
fight against the AIDS epidemic, by a door-to-door prevention campaign in the poor areas and by the support of the terminal patients, frequently visiting them. South Africa is currently experiencing one of the most severe HIV epidemics in the world. By the end of 2005, there were five and a half million people living with HIV in South Africa, and almost 1,000 AIDS deaths occurring every day, according to UN AIDS estimates.

Human Resettlement - Nicaragua
A group of young university students volunteer their time and energy to rebuild the houses in the north of Nicaragua, a region devastated by hurricane Mitch in 1998. The technical equipment and know-how of the university students allow the local population to reconstruct their homes and resume normal life.

The Spiel-Container is a place where the children are able to rediscover the pleasure of playing, laughing and dreaming in peace, surrounded by the love they look for.

Traditionally Nomadic Bedouins - Jordan
A certain group of traditionally nomadic Bedouins have been forced to settle down. Today they share a refugee camp with displaced Palestinians in the desert around Jordanian capital. The NGO Operation Mercy works with them. We focused on one of their several activities: aid to handicapped children.

Gender - Bangladesh
The main goal of the Girl Guides Association is promoting
awareness and formation of young girls from a poor socio-economical background to take
a stand in the core of Bengali society. The older guides learn how to read, write and sing to the younger ones. They also teach them the essentials about hygiene and sexuality. To teach them how to dream is their ultimate goal.

Vedic University project, MVU, in the middle of Cambodian
countryside. This university offers courses to the young
inhabitants of the region. Through the MVU they can acquire a college degree without having to migrate to the overpopulated urban areas.
